Okay, so I'm going to keep this post up, and edit it as I finish reading books. ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) 50bookchallenge gave me the idea, but they have like, 150 posts per day, and it's too much for my flist and patience, so I'll keep the list here.
Most of what I read is fantasy, but expect to see Sci-fi and such as well. Rarely historical stuff, except for the Belisarius series, which is marvelous, and deserves to be read. And I never read romance-only books. Well, unless it's the last thing I can read. x.x
Anyway, on to the books. My goal is 60, but I usually read more than that per year. Lots more. I'll just see how it goes.
So far, the list is:

*sigh* I hate "modern" fantasy. Period. WTF is up in the author's head? Apparently, they think that by being really weird and writing crap, they can be considered "artists". Well, poo on them.
Oh. Many people have said that Mercedes Lackey's fantasy books aren't that great. Some of them are rather cliche or hard to swallow, and the likes. But she has a true gift for writing children. Like in Ship #3 and her Serrated Edge series... and the Urban Elves, to a point ^_^ Good stuff in those books. Very, very good stuff.

Here's this story I found a couple days ago. It's Harr/Pansy, and for those of you who've read the biggest ff writers out there, you'll recognize some themes, especially from the FFA authors. FFA = fanfictauthors.net <-- yous must go visit! that is my all time favourite place to read fanfiction. They have pretty much all pairing categories, including Harry/Squid, and the quality is teh rock-ness! don'\t be discouraged by the small number of authors *snicker* they're some of the best. Look at Jeconais' fics. Really. Read them, eat them, memorize them, worship them. And then beg him to update. :D
