I Want Out Chapter Six
Title: I Want Out
Rating: PG-13 leaning towards R.
Status: Work-In-Progress
Genre: Action/Adventure/General. Not so much angst, but there are moments. Action-y.
Pairing(s): Harry/Bellatrix
Summary: One has decided not to be used anymore. The other has no more use. Now, both sides want to catch them. But really, how do you catch two of the best duelists alive? Harry/Bellatrix, Post-Seventh year. Some HBP major events will be included, some won't.
Warnings: Some gore, but nothing too graphic. Sexual situation won't be graphic. I have a couple plans for smut outtakes, if the story sticks to the outline I have. Which might or might not happen, since that outline has been reworked several times to keep up with the story *grin*

Chapter Six

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter or anything else you might recognize. No profit is being made from this.

A/N: So sorry for the long wait, people. I'm balancing college and a job that pays for that college and it pretty much kills my brain. Thanks go, as usual, to LunaMoon224 and Konrad for their wonderful beta job on this chapter.

Rufus Scrimgeour greeted the amassed reporters with a nod and sat down, indicating the he was ready to accept their questions. An Auror at his side pointed to a short man with several quills stuck in his unkempt hair. The other reporters sat poised to take notes.

"Allan Rustee, from Wizarding Today, sir," he said. "We have heard that The Chosen One, Harry Potter, has deserted the side of the Light, sir. Is it true? I mean, did he really abandon us?"

The Minister took a sip from his goblet and sighed. "I am afraid, that due to his actions, Mr. Potter must be considered an enemy of every witch and wizard. He has attacked a team of Aurors as well as his friends, so if you ever see him, do not try to attack him. Instead, inform the Ministry as soon as you can. It is for the best that Mr. Potter is apprehended before he can hurt more innocents."

"Minister, are the rumours that Potter fought alongside Bellatrix Lestrange true? Has he turned Dark?" another reported inquired.

"To the best of my knowledge, Mr. Potter is not a dark wizard. There has been an altercation between the Aurors and Mr. Potter, and Bellatrix Lestrange was indeed involved, but as of yet, we do not know if they fought together or it was coincidence. However, they are both very dangerous, and I urge you to contact the Ministry Aurors as soon as possible if you see either of them. They are very dangerous and should not be approached."

"Bollocks, Scrimgeour!" a fat man hollered from the back of the crowd. He had an enchanted quill on a parchment hovering next to him, taking down everything said in the room. "We all know that the two worked together and beat the stuffing out of a team of Aurors. And they helped each other, too! He's gone Dark, mark my words! Him and the Lestrange bitch, too. They're gonna kill us all!"

The Minister frowned and began to speak but was drowned out by the mass of reporters all shouting questions at him, and most of them were not questions he wanted to answer because he didn't know the answers himself. He knew one thing, though. He had to catch Potter soon and make him fight Voldemort. It was his destiny, wether the brat liked it or not, and he would do it, even if the Minister had to Imperio him into it.

'Chosen One' gone Dark?

We at the Daily Prophet would like to believe that it is not so. However, recent events are pointing towards the fact that Harry Potter, the one chosen by Fate to defeat the Dark Lord, has abandoned us, joining the other side of the war.

A few days ago, Mr. Potter was intercepted by a team of the Ministry's best Aurors. He refused to come with them back to England and attacked them. He singlehandedly defeated the Aurors! Only the darkest of wizards can hold such power. It is rumoured that he was accompanied by Bellatrix Lestrange, but there has been no proof of this. Until we have proof, we shall treat this as a simple rumour.

Minister Scrimgeour urges the population of Wizarding Britain to avoid Mr. Potter at all costs and firecall the Aurors immediately if they see Mr. Potter. He is very dangerous, and should not be approached.

With the 'Chosen One' gone Dark, where will we turn for help? Mr. Potter's betrayal has struck the Wizarding world at the most dangerous of times, and we at the Daily Prophet wish that he lives to reap what he has sown.

For more information on Mr. Potter’s status of 'Chosen One,' turn to page 4.

Bellatrix Lestrange's criminal acts, turn to page 6.

Harry Potter, Dark Wizard page 8.

Ginny Weasley threw the paper down in disgust, stomping on it for good measure. It was ridiculous! Harry was going to come back and make things all right. She muttered a few choice words addressed to the Daily Prophet reporters and threw herself on her bed, smiling widely at the thought of Harry's return.

He was going to come right when they were beginning to lose and turn the tide of the battle, and after he'd won, he would sweep her in his arms and look deep into her eyes, professing his love for her. After that, they would kiss and he would Apparate them both to her room in the Burrow, and charm the windows and door shut, before laying her on her bed...

With a small shudder, Ginny shook herself out of her thoughts. Her brother would call her soon, and she would join the rest of the Order in brainstorming about Harry's possible plans. He had to be brought back, because Ginny wanted him to return.

She stood and opened her trunk, taking out the carefully-wrapped bundle she had there. Potion bottles clinked as she set it on the bed, loosening the cloth until the contents were visible. Bright pink liquid shone from the contents of the three vials, and she took out each of them, examining the color and density against the light from the window. They were still at top quality, just like the book had said.

Her fantasy would come true, even if she had to dose Harry with Love Potions again to do it. She had tried to get him to sleep with her during their short relationship in her fifth year, but he had never gone so far. When he was done playing hero, she would have him for herself.

--

The three figures waved cheerfully at Hermione from the photo, pushing each other and laughing. She sighed, letting the photo fall back on the desk. The three occupants of the frame paid her no heed as they continued their game.

What changed you, Harry? she thought, looking at how cheerful the three of them had been at the time of the picture. They had been close, always ready to help each other. Harry had never backed down from helping them, from saving them... why would he leave now?

Of course, they had told the Prophecy to the rest of the Order, but most of them had already guessed it, and the Prophet had been repeating the same thing for months! He had acted a bit childishly by leaving like that. And he had cursed them!

She stared into space, examining her memories, trying to see a reason for Harry to abandon them like that. It was totally unlike him. In their first year, he had been ready to die for them, saving the Philosopher's Stone. In second year, he had almost died saving Ginny, and he hadn't been bothered by it.

The same went for all her memories of Harry. When somebody needed help, he had always helped, without complaint. Why was he refusing to do so now? Especially since there was that Prophecy about him fighting the Dark Lord. Honestly, how does he expect to win? she thought, pondering the fact that perhaps Moody's training scheme had messed with Harry's head.

It was his duty, his destiny, to save them, like always. He would just have to come back and do it, she decided, dropping the picture in a drawer and slamming it shut. And after he'd won, she'd ask him all about his reasons.

Kingsley Shacklebolt sat in his office at the Ministry, thinking about his last meeting with Harry Potter. He didn't resent the mind spell that had been put on him, since it was procedure for one of the Department Heads to put a monitoring spell on the leader of an Auror team when they went on a delicate mission. He respected Minister Scrimgeour, as he had served under the man for a few years, and they had gotten to be quite friendly over that time.

But the fact that Harry had discovered the spell with such ease unsettled him. He had trained Harry, along with Moody, but neither of them were very good at Mind magic. That meant that Harry had received aditional training from somebody skilled in the Mind Arts.

Kingsley didn't know of anybody with that much skill in the Mind Arts on the side of the Light. It was a worrying thought, because it could mean that Harry had turned. Perhaps Bellatrix had taught him? They had helped each other during that battle, no matter what the Minister said.

What are you doing, Harry?

He had gotten to know Harry pretty well during the training and had been impressed by the boy's speed and agility as well as casting ability. He was the best duelist on the Light side, by far. Now that he knew that the boy was destined to take down Voldemort, it seemedonly logical to Kingsley. Harry had to be the best duelist, so he could win when he fought Voldemort.

Why isn't he doing it, then? Kingsley asked himself. He flipped through the file he had started over two years ago, looking for possible clues of mental disorders or personality disturbances, or anything that might make Harry Potter leave his friends.

After two hours, he had come to a conclusion. It seemed obvious from the files he had. Harry was being controlled by somebody. Maybe it was Voldemort, but Kingsley doubted it. Ol' Snakeface would kill Harry, not try to control him. But he was willing to bet a large amount of Galleons that Bellatrix was controlling him in some way.

Satisfied with his progress, he began sketching a plan for the search for Harry. He already had people at all International apparition centres, as well as the Muggle routes for leaving the country. If Harry left Ireland, he would find out, and they would catch him.

He was certain that once the Unspeakablesexplained things to Harry, he would be willing to help them win the war. After all, Voldemort had killed his parents, Harry must want revenge. Besides, he was a responsible boy, and prophecies were a big responsibility. Harry would just face it, like he always did.
